CONCORD-BASED FASHION DESIGNER BERGMAN HANDPICKED TO EXHIBIT AT AMERICAN FINE CRAFT SHOW AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM NOV 21-22
Elegance, spare lines & skill, hallmarks of women's fashions like Robin Bergman's, to show in Brooklyn Museum's magical Beaux-Arts Court
Fashion takes pride of place at the third American Fine Craft Show Brooklyn at Brooklyn Museum November 21-22, 2015, where 25 of 90 handpicked artisans will exhibit handmade coats, jackets, dresses and accessories in the regal Beaux-Arts Court. Concord-based Robin Bergman will also exhibit and sell her designs the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Bergman writes on her website, “I hand loom limited edition and one of kind knitted artwear from luxury yarns and natural fibers. Influences include ethnographic fabric, antique rugs and weavings, drawing on my background as a painter and my experience as a textile conservator at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston,” for four years in the 1980s. She loves “unexpected details such as inverted back pleats, patterned yokes and panels and antique buttons.”
