Concord Library Honors Suffragists

Please join the Concord Free Public Library for two programs featuring the history of women's suffrage.

Tuesday, February 2 at 7 p.m. (Main Library-129 Main St.) - My Militant Suffragist Grandmother: presented by Pam Swing. Pam Swing, PhD is a Resident Scholar at the Brandeis Women’s Studies Research Center. For the past three years, she has been researching the life and work of her grandmother, Betty Gram Swing, in preparation for writing a book about her. Pam has her grandmother’s papers, which are destined for the Schlesinger Library. Registration required.

Thursday, February 4 at 1:30 p.m. (Fowler Branch Library at 1322 Main St. in West Concord) - Screening of the newly-released film Suffragette starring Carey Mulligan and Meryl Streep. Rated PG-13. Pam Swing will lead a post-screening discussion about the film and women’s suffrage. Registration is required.
