The Concord Museum received a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to create a new workshop for K-12 educators, Living and Writing Deliberately: The Concord Landscapes and Legacy of Henry Thoreau. The workshops will immerse educators into the landscape and historical settings of Concord to explore how Thoreau’s ideas were shaped. This is the first time that a Concord-based cultural institution has been selected for an NEH Landmarks of American History and Culture grant. The two one-week workshops will be held in July 2017, which coincides with the 200th anniversary of Thoreau’s birth.
