Here's a look at some of the topics that got Concordians talking this week.

  • The talk of the town this week was the closing of the . The restaurant and pub closed its doors at the conclusion of 2011 after 25 years in business. , and have seen an outpouring of sentiment from Concordians (current and former) saddened over the loss of the Walden Street eatery. One individual referred to the Grille as "the 'Cheers' of Concord." Others reminisced over the friends and relationships fostered, one commenter saying she and her now husband had their first date there years ago. to see what people in, and from, the neighborhood had to say about the Grille's closing, and share your own thoughts and memories on the closing of the Walden Grille.
  • On Thursday, we asked what patrons of the Walden Grille . Suggestions ranged from a vegan-friendly restaurant serving local produce, to an Asian noodle soup restaurant. to see what other ideas readers tossed out, and let us know what you'd like to see open on Walden Street.
  • Members of the theater community all over eastern Massachusetts were devastated Tuesday by the who was tragically killed in a car accident in Framingham. Jill Henderson offered these kind words: "Concord Players has lost a great actor and friend. Peter Stark starred in "Man Who Came for Dinner" and was a giant in heart, head, body and soul. RIP Friend." Patch's deepest sympathies go out to Stark's family and loved ones. 
  • Early in the week, we featured a poll asking Concordians whether or not you think the should be recited at the start of Town Meeting. While no one left any specific comments on the poll, more than 20 people did post their opinions, with 57 percent of voters saying the pledge should be left out of Town Meeting and 42 percent saying it should be included. to cast your vote.
  • The MBTA is considering several options to fill in a projected $161 million budget gap in fiscal year 2013. We presented would have on the commuter rail service in Concord. Both possible moved by the MBTA would result in significant increases in fare prices. JJ Bills said, "$9 for a ride to Boston!!! If you and the wife wanted to go into Boston for an evening and not worry about driving, it is now $36 round-trip... yes this will definitely impact how much I use the commuter rail."
