Easter Vigil Service, April 4 at 7:30 PM

From darkness to light at Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord.

Trinity Episcopal Church celebrates the Great Vigil of Easter on Saturday, April 4 at 7:30 PM in the Main Sanctuary at 81 Elm Street in Concord. The Easter Vigil begins in darkness until the new fire is kindled, representing the light of Christ brought into the Church. Then, by the light of candles, we hear stories of salvation and, finally, the Gloria is sung with a great noise and ringing of bells. Trinity’s Parish Choir (Robert Barney, director) will sing “Alleluia! Christ our Passover” by English contemporary composer David Halls.

In the early days of the church, new converts were accepted into the faith during the Easter Vigil so it is especially meaningful to have Baptisms at this service. The first Easter Eucharist is celebrated.

All of Trinity’s Holy Week services are open to the public at no charge. Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 81 Elm Street in Concord and is fully handicap-accessible. For further information on Trinity’s services and programs, please call our Parish Office 978/369-3715 or visit our web page, www.trinityconcord.org.
