More information about the Easter Sunday Musicians:
Robert Honeysucker is a nationally celebrated opera singer who is also known for his stirring performances of African American spirituals. "Usually spirituals have to do with Bible stories, or relate to issues and trials and looking forward to a period of relief and rest from labors. These were about the soul, and looking for relief and the joy of a new world", says Robert Honeysucker. A recent Boston Globe review praises "The rich natural beauty of Honeysucker's singing is always so moving." http://www.roberthoneysucker.com.
Noriko Yasuda, will be accompanying her husband Robert Honeysucker and trumpeter Gregory Hopkins. Ms. Yasuda is an accomplished musician with an impressive resume herself and is currently principal coach at Longy Opera Workshop and Opera North. http://longy.edu/academics/faculty/noriko-yasuda.
Gregory Hopkins is a performer, composer, and arranger who first picked up the trumpet as a boy in Detroit, and to this day it would be hard to spot him without his horn. Hopkins plays even when caught in traffic on commute to Berklee College of Music, where he’s been teaching since 1974. http://www.greghopkins.net/#/jazz
