Dr. Anthony Rao addresses the distinct challenges of raising young boys into happy and healthy young men. Teaching parents how to raise their sons with respect for their natural development will give boys the best chance to grow into confident and healthy men according to Dr. Rao.
“The problem really isn’t the boys,” Dr. Rao says. “It’s our expectations of them.” Believing ever-increasing numbers of boys are being treated and medicated for problems many may not have, Dr. Rao urges parents, educators, physicians, and other developmental experts to reevaluate and radically alter how we deal with young boys in his book, The Way of Boys: Promoting the Social and Emotional Development of Young Boys.
