The Hammond Performing Arts Series Presents Arnaud Sussmann and Orion Weiss

Award-Winning Musicians to Perform at the Friends of the Performing Arts in Concord (FOPAC)

CONCORD, Mass. (February 26, 2016) - Saul Cohen, President of Hammond Residential Real Estate in Chestnut Hill, is pleased to announce that violinist Arnaud Sussmann and pianist Orion Weiss will be performing works by Dvorak, Mozart, Copland, and Beethoven as part of the Hammond Performing Arts Series. The concert will take place on Sunday, March 13 at 3 p.m. at Friends of the Performing Arts in Concord (FOPAC), which is located at 51 Walden Street in Concord. Admission is free.

Winner of a 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant, violinist Arnaud Sussmann has distinguished himself with his unique sound, bravura, and profound musicianship. His orchestral appearances have included the New York Philharmonic and the Jerusalem Symphony, and after winning the Andrea Postacchini and Vatelot/Rampal Competitions, he studied under Itzhak Perlman. Sussmann is an Artist of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and appears regularly at festivals nationwide. He has recorded for the Deutsche Grammophon, Naxos, and Albany Records labels. His 2014 recording with pianist Orion Weiss was released on the Telos Music label.

Orion Weiss has performed with the major American orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, and New York Philharmonic. His list of awards includes the Gilmore Young Artist Award, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Gina Bachauer Scholarship at The Juilliard School, and the Mieczyslaw Munz Scholarship. A native of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Weiss attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Paul Schenly, Daniel Shapiro, Sergei Babayan, Kathryn Brown, and Edith Reed. In 2004, he graduated from The Juilliard School, where he studied with Emanuel Ax. He has released ten compact discs, including recital repertoire, concertos, and chamber music.

The Hammond Performing Arts Series began in Chestnut Hill twenty-one years ago as a way to provide talented musicians with performance opportunities and to enrich the cultural life of the communities that Hammond’s network of offices serve. The series proved so successful in Chestnut Hill that it has been expanded to Boston, Concord, Hingham, Lexington, Sharon, and Weston.
