League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle Have Selected Citizen for Superintendant Screening Committee
The LWV is pleased to announce that Anne Rarich has agreed to serve as the CAL, along with Eric Van Loon, who will serve as the Alternate.
In the summer of 2016, the Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee and the Concord Public School Committee asked the League of Women Voters of Concord-Carlisle [LWVCC] to aid in the selection of the new Superintendent of Schools, by choosing a Citizen-at-Large [CAL] to participate on the Superintendent Screening Committee. This committee will interview the semi-finalists, chosen by the consultants, and determine which candidates will be presented to the School Committees. The final choice of the new Superintendent will be made by the School Committees.
Through a formal process, approved by the LWVCC Board, the League created a Selection Committee,
comprised of five league members—Julie Rohwein (Chair), Ardis Bordman, Nancy Beeuwkes, Nancy
Cronin, and Peggy Wargelin—to interview and choose the Citizen-at-Large and one Alternate. After
interviewing many candidates, the League is pleased to announce that Anne Rarich has agreed to serve as
the CAL, along with Eric Van Loon, who will serve as the Alternate. This is an important position, as the
CAL will be the only person on the Screening Committee to solely represent our broader communities.
The League hopes that all citizens will actively participate in the on-going superintendent search process.
The school website provides information for the public, which includes the timeline for the process, dates
for the two public forums, information on the focus groups, and a guide for taking the on-line
questionnaire.
