LWV Needs Questions for Candidates’ Forums for Governor’s Council and Middlesex County Sheriff on August 29

We want to hear from you about the issues and questions to ask the candidates for Governor's Council & Middlesex County Sherriff by 8/29.

LWVCC is co-sponsoring with LWV Newton the candidates for the Governor’s Council (3rd District) and for Middlesex County Sheriff on August 29. Audience members can watch the forums live from the NewTV conference room. The forum will also be shown at a later day/time on CCTV’s Government Channel and on their website www.concordtv.org.

The candidates for the Democratic Primary for the 3rd District Governor’s Council are Marilyn Petitto Devaney, Watertown; Bill Humphrey, Newton; Peter Georgiou, Lincoln. The candidates for Middlesex County Sheriff are Peter Koutoujian from Waltham and Barry Kelleher of Wilmington.

Send us your questions! We want to hear from you about the issues and questions you think are important to ask the candidates. Email your questions to voterservice@lwvnewton.org any time before the forum. We request questions be appropriate for all candidates for the specific office and be one to two sentences in length. While the moderators might not be able to ask every question as written, they will try to cover all the topics recommended by the public.

The forum will take place at NewTV studios at 23 Needham Street, Newton Highlands. Candidates for Middlesex County Sheriff will start their forum at 6:45 p.m. and those for Governor’s Council will begin at 8 p.m.

Voters must be registered by Friday, August 19, in order to vote in the September 8 Massachusetts State Primary Election. Absentee Ballots are available now.
