📰 News we're reading
• Concord firefighters get rare 'live fire' training (concordbridge.org) — Concord firefighters just completed rare, grant-funded "live fire" training in Worcester, giving nearly the entire department hands-on practice with real flames, heat, and rescue scenarios. Leaders say this is the first broad live-burn refresher in years, sharpening basic skills that can be hard to maintain when Concord goes months without a major structure fire.

• Building boom accelerates as Novo project breaks ground (concordbridge.org) — A major 201-unit apartment project, Novo Riverside Commons on Baker Avenue, has broken ground in Concord, marking the town's first large multifamily construction in more than a decade. Town officials describe it as a model for balancing affordability, sustainability, and traffic impacts, with geothermal systems, 51 affordable units, a housing trust grant, and promised funds to redesign the Baker Avenue–Main Street intersection as more projects loom.
