Summer Sports, Fitness, and Wellness at Concord Free Public Library
The Concord Free Public Library announces its Summer Reading Programs. All events are free.
· Summer Reading Program On Your Mark, Get Set…Read, June 11 – August 13. Main Library (129 Main St.) & Fowler Branch (1322 Main St.). To enroll and track your summer reading titles please visit http://www.readsinma.org. On Your Mark, Get Set…Read is sponsored by the Concord Free Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. · Featured event: Interview of Concord Olympians with Kevin Paul Dupont, Boston Globe Sr. Staff Writer. Tuesday, July 12 (7 p.m. at the Main Library). Kevin Paul Dupont will interview a panel of Concord Olympic athletes to ask about their story of how they got started as well as their own experience and journey to the Olympics. A question and answer session will follow.
· Featured book: Born to Run: a Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes, and the Greatest Race the World has Never Seen by Christopher McDougall. Book Discussion of Born to Run, Wednesday, June 29 (11 a.m. at the Main Library). Christopher McDougall sets off to find a tribe of the world’s greatest distance runners and learn their secrets, and in the process shows us that everything we thought we knew about running is wrong. Copies of the book available at the Main Library.

· Literary Walk with Jayne Gordon. Monday, July 11 (7 p.m. at the Main Library). Join Jayne Gordon for a Literary Walk and Talk to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring drinking water if it’s a hot evening. For grades 6 to adult.
· Family Film: Air Bud. Friday, July 15 (1 p.m. at the Main Library). Rated PG.
