Trinity Forum, March 6 -- Visitors from Rwanda
Two graduates of Rwanda's Maranyundo Girls School visit Trinity Episcopal Church to share their experiences.
Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord invites you to its Sunday morning Adult Forum, Trinity’s adult education program, which meets most weeks at 9 AM to hear speakers sharing their ideas and experiences on important aspects of connecting faith with everyday life. Trinity’s complete Forum schedule is available here.
On Sunday, March 6 at 9 AM, Trinity welcomes two speakers, Pacifique Mugabo and Martine Uwera, both former students at Maranyundo Girls School in Nyamata, Rwanda. They are in the Boston area attending college and Trinity is very excited to have Pacifique and Martine present to share their experiences at Maranyundo, traveling to the US and their current college studies.
Following introductions from the students, the dialog will open for questions and answers and discussions. Come and meet these girls and learn about their experiences at the Maranyundo school that Trinity has been supporting since 2011. Also bring your questions! By inviting Pacifique and Martine we hope to make personal relationships possible, and this March 6 Forum provides us with a great chance to grow those connections and personal bonds.
A recent report to Trinity’s Beijing Circle, the group that supports Maranyundo Girls School, from Sister Juvenal, the school’s headmistress, announced that “Maranyundo is the #1 school in the country ... not just girls schools but all schools ... in O level exam scores. Those girls who said they wanted to be #1 did it! It is truly amazing. There are over 1,000 schools and this little school out in the country with 50% poor girls enrolled is #1. We are pretty proud of them....and so thankful to the many including you who helped make it happen. Hallelujah!”
The Beijing Circle is a group of women at Trinity Episcopal Church who are helping to support the Maranyundo Girls School through programs involving Trinity’s entire congregation. This is a school of excellence offering a middle school education with a strong focus on mathematics and science, for girls who otherwise would not be attending school.
Trinity’s invited Forum speakers come from many walks of life and
have addressed all manner of topics -- serious, mysterious, personal and world-focused. Among our recent topics are pilgrimage, faith lost and found, histories and Biblical persons, death, dying and grieving, parenting, stewardship, education, and much more.
Childcare begins in Trinity’s nursery at 9 AM; Trinity’s buildings are fully accessible. For further information on this or other programs at Trinity, please call our Parish Office, 978/369-3715, or visit us online.
