Boston Symphony Quartet Kicks Off Mother Brook Performance Series

Mother Brook Arts and Community Center kicked off its First Annual Performance Series on Sunday, April 2.

From Mother Brook Arts and Community Center: Mother Brook Arts and Community Center (MBACC), officially kicked off its First Annual Performance Series on Sunday, April 2 by welcoming The Boston Symphony Orchestra Community Chamber Concert Quartet. This is the second time that MBACC has hosted the BSO's orchestra’s free community concert series that encourages Boston-area communities to build a connection to classical music.

More than 500 people enjoyed the concert, which featured five Boston Symphony musicians. The diverse program featured the premiere of a commissioned work by Boston classical and jazz composer Nicholas Urie, as well as works by Rebecca Clarke and Sergei Prokofiev.

“The BSO concert was a wonderful event that brought the community together to enjoy a concert filled with timeless music,” said Dedham resident Christine Ryan. “What an afternoon! The halls were filled with artistic quilts, the video shared with the audience before the start of the music beautifully captured the artistic mission of Mother Brook, and the captivating music left everyone applauding for more.”
"MBACC's Performance Series’ mission is to bring major musical concerts and performances like the BSO to our center at 123 High Street in Dedham, " said Executive Director Jean Ford Webb. "Developing an attractive performance center location outside of Boston offers residents from Dedham and surrounding communities an alternative venue to experience great music and performances."
