An MBTA bus driver on his way to Dedham stopped in West Roxbury, happily surprising all of his passengers with a heart-warming gesture earlier this week.
John Lohan decided to bull his bus off to the side of the road after he spotted four kids running a lemonade stand. Lohan checked with his passengers, making sure they could spare a few moments, and hopped out of the bus.

“The biggest thing I thought was that the children would have a story they can tell for the rest of their lives. And then afterwards, I thought, ‘Well, so do the passengers,’” Lohan told WBZ News.
Lohan purchased a glass of lemonade for all seven passengers onboard his bus. He also tipped the children quite generously.

The kids could not have been more gracious. One 11-year-old was “surprised” because most people generally pass right by the stand without even noticing it. “He’s awesome,” said another child of Lohan.
Each glass of lemonade was being sold for 50 cents. Lohan purchased seven cups, paying the kids with $10.
Before the passengers left the bus, Lohan says each of them thanked him for making their day a special one.
