Dedham Police Log: Driver Asleep at the Wheel Causes Crash, Shoplifting, and More

June 22

10:22 a.m. - A shoplifter was reported at CVS on Washington Street. Police were unable to find the suspect during a search of the area.

1:03 p.m. - A resident told police that her vehicle was struck by a BB gun bullet.

11:49 a.m. - A bicyclist was struck by a car near Paul Park.

12:15 p.m. - A shoplifter was reported at Star Market on Route 1. The suspect, Wendy Dabreu, 41, was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting.

4:15 p.m. - Police made two arrests at Eastern Bank on Route 1 on charges of uttering a false check and attempting to commit a crime. John Dias, 28 and Jacob Rovelli, 21 were both arrested and charged by the Dedham Police Department.

June 25

11:57 p.m. - The driver of a vehicle on Common Street fell asleep at the wheel and crossed into the opposite lane, striking another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Needham Beth Israel and the first driver admitted to falling asleep. He received a citation.
