Dedham Police Log: Drug-Induced Crash, Shoplifting, and More

November 28

6:52 p.m. - During a traffic stop on Quaker Lane, a driver that failed to stop at a stop sign and had a suspended license received a summons.

8:52 p.m. - A stolen cell phone was reported on Sprague Street. Surveillance footage showed someone entering the van and no one else going near it. The suspect, Hermes Garcia, 23, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250

December 1

3:40 p.m. - Police responded to a report of a shoplifter a Sears on Route 1. The store said that they would seek their own complain and the woman said she came by bus and was too embarrassed to let anyone know what she did. She was placed in protective custody and transported back to the police station.

9:02 p.m. - Police responded to the intersection of Sprague and Greenlodge Streets for a man slumped over the wheel of his car. When police arrived, they were told that the car rolled and hit another vehicle. They also saw that driver was slumped over the passenger seat with the engine running and the emergency brake on. After responders administered Narcan and further medical treatment, the driver was taken to the hospital and will be charged.
