
The information on the following incidents was provided by the Dedham Police Department.
Monday, June 15
7:09 a.m. An officer responded to a report malicious damage to a motorcycle. The officer was met by the owner of the Suzuki GSX600 model motorcycle. The motorylce was observed laying on its left side. Fresh damage was found, including a broken blinker, broken clutch, nicked up engine, scratches and gauges. It was the second time in three days in which the owner reported the bike being tipped over. Another vehicle in the driveway was found covered in eggs and completely wrapped in Saran Wrap. Police say it’s obvious the vehicles are being targeted. The area will be monitored.

9:36 a.m. Malicious damage was reported to a vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, the vehicle’s owner informed the officer that her car was vandalized on the street bordering her property. The officer observed slashed tires, significant key scrapes and damage to the sun roof and window. The incident was documented for insurance purposes.
11:55 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the CVS on the Providence Highway. One vehicle traveling westbound on Elm Street collided with passenger side of another vehicle pulling out of the parking lot onto Elm Street. No injuries were documented.

3:56 p.m. Police responded to reports of a shoplifter at a CVS. It was later learned that the suspect was stuffing Dove body wash products in his pants and underwear. The suspect attempted to steal 13 bottles valued at $116. An officer resolved the matter. The suspect was captured on video surveillance as well.
Tuesday, June 16
10:11 a.m. A suspicious person was reported in the vicinity of 670 Legacy Place at Showcase Cinema Delux. An officer reported to the scene. The suspect was gone on arrival.
12:23 p.m. Police found two injured rabbits tangled in hockey netting. An animal control officer was able to extricate both animals. The rabbits were taken to the Animal Rescue League shelter for treatment.
2:01 p.m. Police were dispatched to Charity Lane for reports of a dog that was struck by a car. A small dog was found on the side of the road. The dog’s owner was visibly upset. Witnesses stated the dog is frequently off its leash. An animal control officer tended to the dog. No citations were given.
4:50 p.m. Police responded to a reported hit-and-run accident on Providence Highway in the parking lot of Dedham Health and Athletic Complex. A black Toyota van struck a parked car and drove off. Witnesses described the driver as a female with blonde hair. Witnesses also reported a plate number. Police attempted to contact the driver.
Wednesday, June 17
12:44 a.m. Police responded to an accident with injuries on Washington Street. A vehicle traveling north struck a telephone pole. The operator told police a dog was in the road and he tried to avoid it. A witness stated a similar story. The operator was transported for evaluation.
11:57 a.m. Police contacted Animal Control regarding a coyote sighting along a trail at Wilson Reservation. The Department of Recreation took further action.
5:20 p.m. A woman informed police that several items had been stolen from her car after it was towed a few days prior. Valuable identification cards were among the items which were said to be stolen. The woman informed police her brother-in-law may have been involved.
