Dedham Police Log: Multi-Car Accident, Stolen Business Sign, Warrant Arrest, Hit and Run

August 12, 2:40 a.m.
Officers responded to 370 High Street for a report of a multi-car accident. Upon arrival at the scene, police noted two vehicles with extensive front-end damage. One driver traveling on the eastbound side of the road told police a car traveling west crossed the center line, resulting in a head-on collision. The second driver stated that they were unaware about what had happened. Both parties were transported to the hospital. Police ruled out alcohol as being a factor. The second driver was issued a citation.

August 12, 2:50 p.m.
A business owner told police that a sign from her frozen yogurt shop at Legacy Place had been stolen. The owner said a large sign that was on the front of the store had been taken down. Just a few days earlier the sign was documented as present. The sign is of significant value. The incident was documented.

August 15, 10:35 p.m.
Police officers responded to a Dedham home on Meadow Street to speak with Makskim Zylyftari. The man was known to have a warrant out of Dorchester District Court. Police arrested him and transported him to the Dedham Police station. It’s not known what the warrant was in regards to.
August 16, 6 p.m.
Police responded to Ames Street to take a report of a damaged fence. The landlord at the residence reported that a wood picket fence on his property was damaged by one of his tenants. Police spoke with the tenant and received a confession. The suspect told police that the fence was damaged by a U-Haul truck that had been rented. The suspect had planned on notifying the landlord.
