Dedham Police Log: Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest, Man Busted for Stealing Beer, Phone Scam
A look at some recent police-involved incidents in Dedham.

The following incidents are provided by the Dedham Police Department.
June 29, 2015 - Ariel Martinez was pulled over after an officer observed him speeding on East Street. After looking up Martinez’s name, the officer learned he had an active warrant out of Stoughton District court. The officer ordered Martinez out of the vehicle and he complied. Martinzez was handcuffed and brought to Dedham’s station.
June 29, 2015 - An officer responded to a package store on Cedar Street after receiving word of an apparent shoplifter. Upon arriving at the scene, the store’s cashier informed the officer that a male suspect had entered and walked out with an 18 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. The cashier described the suspect to the officer. The officer was able to identify the individual in question due to prior incidents, leading to the arrest of Dean Chaisson.

July 2, 2015 - An officer was called to a restaurant on Washington Street to tend to a reported phone scam incident. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the owner informed the officer that he was called by someone claiming to be with Eversource Electric. They stated the restaurant would lose power if they weren’t given a gift card. The incident was documented for investigation.
