Dedham Police: Unconscious Driver Stopped In The Middle Of Pratt Avenue

Friday, Nov. 14
At 11:05 a.m., a caller reported a tire fell off a truck on the highway above the Dedham Medical parking lot a damaged her vehicle below.
At 1:15 p.m., a Verizon contractor reported a copper plate missing/stolen from a tower site on West Street.

At 7:40 p.m., police responded to a report of shoplifting from Best Buy. Store employees observed a person described as a Hispanic male wearing khaki pants, a black and white jacket and a red hat, flee the store with an HP laptop.
At 10:45 p.m., a hit-and-run was reported on Adam Street. The owner of the struck vehicle said he spotted a dark-colored sedan leaving the area.

At 11:36 p.m., officers responded to a call of a man unconscious at the wheel of his vehicle in the middle of Pratt Avenue. Officers were able to rouse the driver, who was unconscious with his foot on the brake and the car in drive. The man was identified as Thomas Evans, who needed assistance from officers putting his vehicle in park. A check revealed Evans’ license had been suspended and he was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license.
Saturday, Nov. 15
At 2:09 p.m., a woman reported her wallet and iPhone had been stolen from inside her purse while she dined at Wicked PIzza.
At 2:52 p.m., vehicle breaking and entering was reported from the parking lot at Chipotle on Providence Highway. A computer and personal items were stolen.
At 8:55 p.m., officers responded to reports of a fight at Waterford’s. The suspects were gone upon officers’ arrival, but the victim said he had been assaulted by two men wearing Mt. Ida jackets. No weapons were shown.
Sunday, Nov. 16
At 12:48 a.m., a taxicab pulled into a sobriety checkpoint and the driver stated there was an ongoing fare dispute with his passenger. Officers observed the passenger to be highly intoxicated and advised him to pay his fare and arrange for alternate transportation. The passenger swiped his credit card and spit on the cab when he stepped out of the vehicle. He was placed in protective custody.
At 11:53 a.m., shoplifting was reported from the CVS on Bussey St. Surveillance video appears to show a black man in his mid-20s to mid-30s wearing an orange and white sweatshirt, khakis and dark shoes. He was seen stuffing items into a black canvas bag.
At 9:01 p.m., a woman reported her purse had been lost/stolen while she shopped at Stop & Shop on Providence Highway.
