Dedham Prep School President Earned Salary of Almost $1.3M

Robert Henderson's $1.3 million is greater than the salary of all the college presidents Massachusetts.

Salaries for college presidents across the country have undergone a significant increase in recent years, but they’re not the only ones benefitting from a larger pay day.

Prep school presidents across the state of Massachusetts are collecting large salaries, including the headmaster at Dedham’s Noble and Greenough.

A recent survey conducted by The Boston Globe found the average salary among dozens of private school presidents in the state was $450,000 in 2012. The pay bumb marks a 23 percent increase from 2009.

Noble and Greenough, a private school located in Dedham, is home to over 600 students. The school’s president Robert Henderson Jr. was paid almost $1.3 million in salary and compensation in 2012, the Globe says.

According to the Globe, the private schools defended the growing salaries, saying the increase is due to a job that comes with many difficult tasks.
