Dedham Restaurant Faces Violation Hearing in Front of Selectmen
Thursday night, the Dedham Board of Selectmen heard the details of an incident that took place at Waterfords Restaurant and Pub on Dec. 30.

DEDHAM, MA — A local restaurant was in front of the selectmen for a liquor license violation hearing following an alleged incident.
Thursday night, the Dedham Board of Selectmen heard the details of an incident that took place at Waterfords Restaurant and Pub on Dec. 30.
Tony Haggerty, the owner of the restaurant, told the board that the incident happened after a long night at the establishment. He told the board that much of the night was spent dealing with a bridal party that came in with many intoxicated members. He said they were not served by his bartenders and following another incident when one member of the group crashed into the evening band’s equipment, the group was asked to leave.

Haggerty, who left at 1:20 a.m., said he was told by police that a member of the band was served a beer after closing.
“I feel really bad about it after 35 years. I have to deal with it, I hired new bartender who has worked with me. That was my method of dealing with this issue. I am disappointed but there it is,” Haggerty said.

Sgt. Mike Buckley said there were no other people from the public in the restaurant at the time of the alleged incident.
“It was kinda an up and down night with dealing with all these people we didn’t serve. I thought we did a good job taking control, that’s why I was surprised when I got the call,” Haggery said.
Waterfords' last violation came in 2015 during a compliance check.
The board voted to take the issue under advisement and will vote on a finding and possible sanctions at a later date.
