Dedham School Committee Fills Vacant Seat

Stephen Bilafer was recently elected to serve a seven-month term on the Dedham School Committee.

Six members of of the school committee and the town’s Board of Selectmen elected Bilafer to fill a vacant seat on the committee left behind by Jen Barsamian. Barsamian stepped down early this summer after moving out of Dedham.

Bilafer received a total of six votes. The next closest candidate, Dimitria Sullivan, received five votes. A third candidate, Sharna Small Borsellino did not recioeve a vote.

Bilafer joins the committee with 25 years of experience working in government.

The School Committee and Board of Selectmen made their decision after meeting with each candidate last week.
