Your complete guide to Thursday's state primary.

DEDHAM, MA — The state primary is this Thursday and that means that voters across Massachusetts will heading to the polls to decide who moves on to November's general election.
Voters are encouraged to confirm their voter status and polling location by visiting the Secretary of State’s office online or by calling the Town Clerk’s office.

Here's what you need to know about Thursday's election:
Party Affliation

There are four political parties in Massachusetts:
- D - Democratic Party
- R - Republican Party
- J - Green-Rainbow
- CC - United Independent Party
Voters who are enrolled in one of the above parties can only vote on the ballot for that party.
Voters who are unenrolled in a party will be listed on the voter list with the party code “U.” Unenrolled voters and can choose which party’s ballot they would like to receive.
Polling Hours
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here's a list of polling locations:
- Precinct 1 - Town Hall, 26 Bryant St
- Precinct 2 - Riverdale School, 143 Needham St.
- Precinct 3 - MBACC (The former Avery School), 123 High St.
- Precinct 4 - Dedham Middle School 70 Whiting Ave
- Precinct 5 - Greenlodge School, 191 Greenlodge St.
- Precinct 6 - Dedham Middle School 70 Whiting Ave.
- Precinct 7 - Greenlodge School, 191 Greenlodge St

State Senate - Norfolk and Suffolk
