New Public Safety Building Tops 2017 Special Town Meeting Warrant

DEDHAM, MA — Town Meeting members will tackle a warrant with 19 articles when they meet Nov. 13 for the 2017 Special Town Meeting at Dedham High School.

Article four, which will ask meeting members to approve $45 million for a combined public safety building at the site of the current Town Hall tops the warrant. The price includes the demolition of Town Hall and construction of the new building.

Article five will see if the town will approve the $84.86 million Blue Hills Regional Technical High School renovation. The renovation is being voted on by all the towns in the high school's district. Dedham's share is in accordance with a regional agreement based on enrollment.

Article six calls for $14 million for the construction of Manor Fields, but the finance and warrant commission has recommended indefinite postponement.
