New Town Hall Project Moving Along

Town officials expect to be in the former Ames Building by the spring.

DEDHAM, MA — Work on the new Town Hall is moving along, according to a report from CTA Construction.

Town officials expect to be in the former Ames Building by the spring. The building, which was once a school, is bring renovated into a new Town Hall and senior center. The site of the current Town Hall will be used for a new public safety complex.

A representative from CTA Construction said at a recent selectmen meeting that many of the rooms in the building are being finished with paining and carpeting. Selectmen Dennis Guilfoyle said he recently toured the building and it appears that it's coming together.

The selectmen have been heavily monitoring the progress of work at the new Town Hall. The project started in summer 2016 and was supposed to take a year before delays pushed the move in date to September, then November, then thus year.

“To say we’re closely monitoring is an understatement,” Kern said. "I'd like to get in the building so I can see the progress."
