New Town Hall Targeting Summer Opening

DEDHAM, MA — Town employees could be in the new town hall by this summer, Town Manager Jim Kern said.

Kern told the selectmen Thursday night that he recently looked at the former Ames School House on Washington Street and saw that most of the areas have been framed out.

"What we have now is the framing, similar to when you walk into someone's house. You can kinda picture where the kitchen is going to be, it’s the same thing,” Kern said.

Most of the work with the shell and basement floor have been completed, Kern said.

The building will also house the senior center. Located on the first floor with an atrium entrance, seniors will park on-grade and enter on the same level as the parking lot.

Work on the new Town Hall and Senior Center has been ongoing since August. The project is scheduled to be done around the end of June.
