Selectmen Vote to Suspend Waterfords' Liqour License

But they won't have to serve the suspension if they don't have another violation through late October.

DEDHAM, MA —Waterfords will not face a suspension for a liquor license violation that took place

The selectmen recently voted to suspend the restaurant's license for one day held in abeyance and transfer three days held in abeyance from a previous violation to the most recent one. The restaurant will have to serve the sentence only if another violation is committed before Oct. 29.

"I think Waterfords understands the seriousness associated with holding the liquor license for many years and they've been good for the neighborhood. But I think in this particular violation doesn't rise to the seriousness of having an altercation or severing someone underage or serving someone intoxicated," Selectman Michael Butler said.

During the early hours of Oct. 30, police saw two people sitting in the restaurant at 1:20 a.m. and 1:40 a.m. When police entered, they saw members of a band which performed that night drinking a beer, police said.

The bartender admitted to serving the beer.
