Spectra Pipeline Protest to March Through Dedham

Mass. for a Better Future is planning the multi-town protest.

Dedham, MA — Hundreds of residents are planning to march from Medfield to Boston to protest a proposed pipeline project.

The People Over Pipelines march from the Better Futures Project is scheduled for July 14 to 18, according to a press release. Over 300 Massachusetts residents have have pledged to walk 43 miles along the route of Spectra’s proposed pipeline projects before arriving at the Massachusetts State House, according to the group.

Protestors will travel through Medfield, Walpole, Sharon, Stoughton, Canton, Norwood, Dedham, Weymouth and the neighborhoods of Boston. At the state house, the group plans to demand action from elected officials.

The protest is against the controversial Spectra Energy gas pipeline project known as Access Northeast.
