Two brothers have been charged with stealing $8,000 worth of tires after they were arrested in an attempt to sell them.

Two brothers were arrested at the Dedham Mall after police responded to a Craigslist ad to purchase stolen tires, according to the Plymouth County DA’s office.

Darren Barboza, 48, of Weymouth, and Theodore Barboza, 46, of Brockton, have been charged with stealing $8,000 worth of tires from Jannell Ford in Hanover, among other dealerships, in March.

Hanover officers met the two brother at the Dedham mall after responding to a Craigslist Ad offering tires for sale. The brothers failed to prove ownership of the tires. Dedham Police seized the tires and they were later identified as those that had gone missing from Jannell Ford.
