Town Meeting Approves Two New Liquor Licenses; Surplus Cash to Slow Dedham Tax Increase
The votes came this week at the Annual Town Meeting

DEDHAM, MA — A couple of more liquor licenses are coming to Dedham following a town meeting vote.
This week, town meeting voted to petition the State Legislature for a license which would be used by a new restaurant at the former Chili's on Route 1 and an all-alcohol license for a 7-Eleven which currently has a wine and malt license, according to the Boston Globe.
Town Meeting also voted to use $3.7 million in surplus cash to reduce the amount of money raised by taxes. The vote means that the tax levy will increase by about 2.9 percent, rather than 5.25 percent.
