Gravel Spill Closes Lanes Along Rt. 128 North in Dedham

All lanes along Route 128 northbound in Dedham were closed Tuesday afternoon following a gravel spill, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

The stretch of highway near exit 16A was closed to travel around 1 p.m. due to debris scattered across all four lanes. The lanes were not reopened for travel until just before 2 p.m.

Crews worked diligently to clear the scene. Traffic in the area was backed up for several miles.

It’s not yet known what caused the gravel to spill everywhere.
