A Big Win For Girls' Soccer (South Sectional D3)

The first South Sectional D3 game was played Sunday. Number 5 seed DS (13-3-3) inhaled the #12 seed W. Bridgewater (9-7-3) for the tournament's first win!

What a spectacular day at the Nora Searle Field Sunday.  The DS Girls Soccer team pulls ahead with a win.  DS outshot their opponents 27 to 2 with a stellar performance from many TEAM players.  In net today for DS, Sophomore, Meghan Hall with 2 saves in the game.  #11 Sophomore, Alex White finds the back of the net with a feed from #7 Junior, Jackie Goudreault in the first half.  The second goal was a long shot from outside the 20 to the upper corner out of reach from the goalie, by #7 Junior, Jackie Goudreault.  Freshman, #14 Rachel Shone making her second Varsity appearance notching a goal fed by #3 Defender and by Senior Chandler Wood.  The TEAM made their presence known.

In the second half of the game The Raiders notched their fourth goal #22 Freshman Claire O'Callaghan with an assist by #11 Alex White.  Head Coach Dave Wainwright was able to use his bench and add depth with a lot of  first appearances with a solid win and confidence to head into the second round at Carver on November 6th, Tuesday in Carver, MA.  Kick off has not been determined.

Head Coach Dave Wainwright and Assistant Coach Amy Cramer with a solid record 13-3-3 are very excited for this first win.  Carver is slated to be the #4 seed.  Head Coach Wainwright comments, "We need to remain focused and take one game at a time.  We are not assuming any team is going to be easy."  DS plays all D2 match-ups in the Tri-Valley League.  The only D3 game in the TVL is Millis.
