HONOR YOUR MOTHER BY HELPING ANOTHER!

A donation of just $25 to Water.org gives one person clean water and sanitation for life. Why not donate and honor your mother this Mother's Day?

BY WILL EASLEY, PINE HILL SCHOOL FIFTH GRADER

This coming Sunday, May 13, 2012, is Mother’s Day. To honor mothers, poor or wealthy, across the globe, Water.org is collecting donations and creating e-cards for mothers in poor countries, such as Bangladesh, Kenya, India, and Ethiopia. The donations go towards clean water for people who don’t have any. A donation of just $25 gives one person clean water and sanitation for life. Why not donate and honor your mother?

Now, you may be wondering, “What IS Water.org? And why SHOULD I donate?” Water.org began as WaterPartners over 20 years ago! Then, when WaterPartners joined with Matt Damon’s H2O Africa in 2009, it became Water.orgWater.org directly empowered 140,000 lives with clean water and sanitation for life in 2011. These are only direct beneficiaries. The indirect beneficiaries are hard to count because of the snowball effect on families, neighbors, and communities.
