Easton Murder Suspect Held Without Bail

EASTON, MA — A Florida man charged with murdering a man in Easton in November was recently extradited back to Massachusetts and held without bail. Michael Noguera, 47, of Lehigh Acres, was charged with murder, armed robbery, stealing a vehicle, and illegally carrying a gun.

Police said Noguera shot and killed Daniel Smith, 35, also of Lehigh Acres, Florida, in a trailed wooded area near Langwater Pond. A group of boys riding their bicycles through the area stumbled across a gravely wounded Smith, police said. Smith was hospitalized and died three days later. The next day, Noguera was found living in a trailer on Canine Drive in Conway, South Carolina. He was extradited back to the Massachusetts last week and arraigned Tuesday in Fall River Superior Court.

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.
