Access points are monitored and locked to ensure only authorized individuals can enter. There’s a first aid kit and trained staff on hand at all times to handle any emergencies. The space is well-organized, with age-appropriate toys, books, and learning materials accessible to children. BOURNE, MA — One person was injured and several others were rescued from a three-alarm fire in Bourne Tuesday night. Police responded to a reported structure fire at the multi-family home on Sandwich Road around 8:12 p.m., according to Bourne police. Officers went inside and helped some of the occupants escape before encountering heavy smoke, police said. Two officers were evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation.One resident was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
