Jones Road Opens After Falmouth Police Investigation: What To Know
Police closed a portion of Jones Road, and three Falmouth schools were placed into lockdown during an investigation on Thursday.
FALMOUTH, MA — An active police investigation in the area of Jones Road put three local schools on lockdown Thursday, but police said the public never faced any danger.
In an update provided on Thursday afternoon, Falmouth Police announced that Jones Road had reopened. Additionally, they added that "at no time was the public in immediate danger."
"We would also like to thank the Falmouth Public Schools for their partnership and cooperation during the shelter in place and the re-unification plan which was implemented out of the abundance of caution to keep the children and teachers safe," the department added.

The Falmouth Police said there was an active police incident scene on Jones Road around 1 p.m. on Thursday. Area schools were put in a shelter-in-place status "as a precaution."
The schools put into shelter-in-place were Mullen-Hall School, Lawrence School, and Morse Pond School. Falmouth school officials said "students and staff remain safe and are continuing normal day activities inside the school."

However, the lockdown did affect pickup for students at Morse Pond. All students at Morse Pond were taken by bus to Falmouth High School for dismissal.
Lawrence School and Mullen-Hall School had a regular dismissal, but there were no walkers at Lawrence School.
