FBI indicts two Massachusetts men over armed Roxbury, Roslindale bank robberies (massdailynews.com) — A 35-year-old man from Falmouth has been indicted alongside a West Yarmouth resident in connection with armed bank robberies in Roxbury and Roslindale. Federal prosecutors say one suspect brandished a gun and threatened employees while the pair allegedly forced staff at two Boston-area branches to move at gunpoint, leaving one robbery attempt empty-handed but taking about $3,000 in the other.
   

4. New records reveal final moments before fatal Mashpee drowning (capecodtimes.com) — A drowning at Mashpee Wakeby Pond in June has been ruled an accidental death, with records noting the victim was a poor swimmer who struggled returning from a buoy. The 22-year-old was taken to Falmouth Hospital, where doctors found no signs of trauma or foul play, and investigators detailed his friend's unsuccessful attempts to keep him above water.
   

5. Villain to hero: Cape Codders chime in on (now) beloved horseshoe crabs (capeandislands.org) — A Falmouth middle-schooler and a Cape Cod science writer team up to explain why ancient horseshoe crabs are so remarkable, from their many eyes to their lifesaving blue blood.
