App Leads to Falmouth Thief's Arrest: Police
Falmouth police said a victim used an app to track down a suspect who stole his phone.
FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth thief who pilfered thousands of dollars worth of mobile devices was tracked down thanks to a victim who used an app to find his phone and the suspect, according to police. Benjamin Burch, 38, was arrested Tuesday and charged with a host of crimes.
Police said Burch broke into a vehicle at the Riverbend Conservation Area Tuesday and stole the victim's phone, a GPS unit, and $20. The victim used a "find my phone" app to track down Burch to his residence on Shore Street, police said. Officers arrived and arrested Burch on the spot, police said.
Found at Burch's residence were a stolen iPad, stolen items from the Falmouth Walmart, and more items stolen in Yarmouth. Combined, the stolen items are worth over $2,000, police said.
