Man Who Crashed Into Off-Duty Trooper On Cape Cod Arrested: MSP
Police said Gregory May, of Duxbury, jumped in the back of a landscaping trailer to flee the scene of the crash.
BOURNE, MA — Police arrested a man accused of fleeing the scene after crashing into an off-duty state police trooper and his wife on Cape Cod. Gregory May, 35, of Duxbury, left the scene by jumping into a landscaping trailer that was being towed by another vehicle, state police said.
The crash happened around 8:10 p.m. on the Sagamore Bridge, according to state police. Investigators said a 1999 Toyota coupe crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Volkswagen Passat heading in the opposite direction. The trooper was behind the wheel of the Volkswagen, and his wife was the passenger, police said.
May then jumped into the back of a passing landscaping truck to leave the scene, according to police.

The trooper's wife was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth for minor injuries. She has since been released.
May was arrested shortly after 10:30 a.m. at a relative's home in Bourne. He was arraigned on charges related to the crash and leaving the scene.
