Coast Guard Joins Investigation into Bourne Shooting that Left Woman Dead, Police Officer Injured
The suspect and the two women who were shot were all members of the U.S. Coast Guard.

The United States Coast Guard has joined the investigation into what exactly happened on Round House Road in Bourne on Feb. 5, when a member of the U.S. Coast Guard allegedly shot a Bourne Police Officer and two women who were also members of the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard petty officer Adrian Loya, 31 of Virginia, pled not guilty to allegations that he shot and killed a woman, injured two other people, planted fake bombs and set a car on fire to prevent police from getting the victims needed help.

He has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, according to ABC News 13.

Lisa Trubnikova, 31, died in the attack. Her spouse, 30-year-old Anna Trubnikova, is still in the hospital.

Bourne Police Officer Jared MacDonald, a retired member of the Coast Guard, is also still in the hospital after Loya allegedly shot him in the back. Family members released a statement Friday, Feb. 6 saying he has a “long road” to recovery.
Police have not confirmed a motive behind the shooting, but Lisa Trubnikova’s family members told the Boston Globe that Loya has been obsessed with her since they were stationed together in Alaska several years ago.
