Dan Higgins Garners Endorsements From Correction Officers Unions

Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union and the Barnstable County Correctional Officers Union are Higgins' latest endorsements.

CAPE COD, MA — Cape and Islands District Attorney candidate Dan Higgins received endorsements from two correctional officers unions in the lead-up to the September primary elections.

The Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union and the Barnstable County Correctional Officers Union are Higgins' latest endorsements, which his campaign announced recently.

Executive board members of the Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union voted unanimously to endorse Higgins, his campaign said.

"Daniel Higgins will support public safety and continue to serve the citizens of the Cape & Islands as he has done for many years as an Assistant District Attorney," the union said, in a statement. "No one has the experience and professionalism to serve all of the citizens on the Cape and Islands like Daniel Higgins."

A growing list of law enforcement agencies and players have endorsed Higgins thus far, including current District Attorney Michael O'Keefe. Higgins currently serves as the Assistant District Attorney.

Robert Joseph Galibois is running unopposed on the Democratic side of the Barnstable County DA race, while three candidates are looking for the nob on the Republican ticket. They are: Melissa R. Alden, John F. Carey Higgins.
