Falmouth Election Results: Doug Brown Wins, Senior Center Plan Rejected
Falmouth voters on Thursday elected Doug Brown to the Board of Selectmen and rejected a plan to buy the Coonamessett Inn.
FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth builder Doug Brown hammered home a victory in Thursday's special election for a Board of Selectmen seat. Brown beat three other candidates, capturing 50 percent of the vote.
Brown replaces Ralph Herbst, who resigned in June due to health reasons. Herbst only served a month, as he was elected in May in Falmouth's annual town election. Brown will finish Herbst's three-year term.

Also on Thursday, voters rejected a plan to buy the Coonamessett Inn and turn it into a senior center. The vote was 4,631 to 1,086. The votes were held the same day as the state primary:
