East Falmouth Resident Races for Local Youth Mentoring Programs

Angela Prout, of East Falmouth, will run the 54th Falmouth Road Race on August 16 to support youth mentoring on Cape Cod and the Islands. Prout is raising funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands (BBBSCCI), the only one-to-one mentoring program serving every town on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and Plymouth. Funds raised will help connect more youth with a caring adult mentor.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands, part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts family, is on a path to impact the lives of 1,000 youth with a mentor by 2028.

“I am thrilled to be running my fourth Falmouth Road Race on behalf of BBBS,” says Prout. “Not only is it a personal, physical challenge each year, but it underscores my commitment to this incredible agency. I have witnessed this incredible organization touch so many lives, including my own, and couldn't be running for a better cause. Plus, as a Falmouth resident, the race marks my favorite day of the summer, with such an impressive outpouring of community, camaraderie, and town spirit.”

Prout first became a Big Sister with BBBSCCI over ten years ago when she was matched with her Little Sister, Julia. She now also serves on the Leadership Council for the Cape and Islands.

Backed by research and proven outcomes, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands is on a mission to help children in under-resourced families thrive through transformational mentoring relationships.
