Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) held its Annual Meeting of Members at the Flying Bridge Restaurant on May 31, 2012.
The evening began with awards presentations. The President of the FCTV Board of Directors, Ahmed Mustafa, presented business recognition awards to Bill Sullivan of Cavossa Disposal and to Susan and Ray Rowitz of Wild Harbor General Store, all longtime sponsors and supporters of FCTV.
Rich Miner received the Producer of the Year Award for his oral history videos The Greatest Generation Speaks to Falmouth, and Falmouth Recollections. The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Davidson Calfee who hosts and produces segments for The Village Green and produces Young Pro TV, served as host of FCTV Live Election coverage and for his crew work on numerous community events including Falmouth Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and LWV Candidate Forums. Dillon Laurino received the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award for his volunteer efforts with the FCTV Kids Club as a youth instructor and his crew work on programs such as the Falmouth School Committee Meetings, Annual Santa Show and Totally Trivia Jr.

Mr. Mustafa recognized outgoing FCTV Board member Shirley Corvo for her efforts on behalf of FCTV including several years as the secretary of the FCTV Board of Directors.
The business meeting was then held with President Mustafa reporting that the state of the corporation was “excellent” and thanking the members, staff and board for their efforts in securing a new contract with the Town of Falmouth which insures FCTV sustainability over the next ten years. He spoke of the diversity of programming produced by the volunteer producers; acquisitions to keep equipment state of the art and efforts to keep the training curricula innovative in the age of digital technology.

Guests were then treated to an “FCTV Year in Review” video, which highlighted many of the community partnerships and programs, which occurred in 2011. The video also included interviews with award recipients.
Elections were held with Pat Thatcher and incumbents Kevin Lynch and Jeffrey Oppenheim elected for three year terms to the Board of Directors.
Falmouth Community Television (FCTV) is an independent, non-profit 501 (c3) corporation whose mission is to provide the community with access to information technology and training in its use so that individuals and groups have a forum to communicate their ideas, information and concerns to the community at large.
Anyone who lives, works or attends school in Falmouth may become a member of FCTV, attend video production workshops and have access to video equipment for the purpose of creating programs for cablecast on the Public Access channel 13. FCTV also manages the Government Access channel 15 and provides oversight with the Falmouth Public Schools for Educational Access channel 14.
