Falmouth's Woodneck River Closed To Swimming Due To Elevated Bacteria
The river is closed to swimming after elevated bacteria levels were found in a test sample, town officials said. Here's what we know.
FALMOUTH, MA — A water sample test returned elevated bacteria levels from Woodneck River, forcing town officials to close the waters off to swimmers.
The news was announced on Aug. 25 through the Town of Falmouth website, indicating that swimming is banned until further notice due to the test results of water taken from the Little Sippewissett Marsh side of the river.
Those results were processed on Aug. 24, and found that elevated bacteria levels were present in the ocean water.
