Good Samaritan Saves Cape Cod Girl From Kidnapping: Police
John Allen, 18, of Bourne, was charged with trying to kidnap a 14-year-old girl as she walked to her school bus stop.
BOURNE, MA — The suspect in a violent attempted kidnapping in Bourne last week has been arrested. Police on Thursday arrested John Allen, 18, of Bourne.
On Thursday, November 10, police said Allen approached a 14-year-old girl walking to her bus stop at about 6:50 a.m. in Bourne. "She was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground," Bourne police said in a statement. The suspect then grabbed her by the neck — at which point a Good Samaritan intervened and Allen fled in a vehicle.
Police said they identified Allen as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with aggravated attempted kidnapping, strangulation, and assault.

"As this investigation is still ongoing, further details and statements regarding the investigation will not be released by the Bourne Police Department at this time," police said. "We would like to assure the public that there is no indication that other children were or are at risk in the Town of Bourne."
