Guns, Drugs Recovered After Months Long Cape Cod Investigation

A Falmouth resident faces multiple drug charges stemming from an investigation that lasted four months, police said.

FALMOUTH, MA — A lengthy investigation in Falmouth ended this week when a 31-year-old resident was charged with drug trafficking and possession, police announced.

Kane Washington was arrested on Tuesday after an investigation that lasted four months and included collaboration between local police, state police and the Cape Cod DEA's Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Police said Washington was stopped while driving and found to be in possession of "large quantities" of fentanyl and crack cocaine during the arrest. Police said they recovered 90 grams of fentanyl and almost 11 grams of crack cocaine.

Officials later executed a search warrant on a safe owned by Washington, and investigators recovered a "ghost gun", or a gun "manufactured illegally with no serial number", five high-capacity magazines, approximately 150 rounds of ammunition and nearly $52,000 in cash, according to police.

Washington is charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and other charges.
