SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA — A resident discovered fireworks on a Cape Cod beach this week, prompting concern as some of them were unlit, officials said.

A citizen walking Windmill Beach in South Yarmouth called the fire department to report fireworks that were left on the beach. The citizen was concerned that some of them hadn't been lit.

Two fire prevention officers responded to the beach and confirmed both the presence of illegal fireworks and that they hadn't been lit.
